skilledupIndia ("we", "our", "us") is a Gulf hiring platform operated from India, connecting skilled Indian professionals with verified Gulf employers and licensed recruitment agencies. Our website is skilledupindia.com.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account data: Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a secure hash).
• Profile data: Skills, experience, nationality, preferred location, languages, and biography provided by candidates.
• Resume: PDF or DOCX file uploaded voluntarily by candidates.
• Employer and agency data: Company name, industry, city, country, and license number.
• Job applications: Records of which jobs you applied to and the status of those applications.
• Contact form submissions: Name, email, subject, and message sent via our contact page.
• Usage data: Pages visited, browser type, and anonymised analytics collected via PostHog.

• To create and manage your account and authenticate your identity.
• To match candidates with relevant job listings.
• To allow employers and agencies to review candidate profiles and applications.
• To send transactional emails: email verification, password reset, application status updates, and consent notifications.
• To respond to contact form enquiries.
• To monitor platform performance and fix errors (via Sentry).
• To understand platform usage and improve our product (via PostHog, anonymised).

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

We process your personal data under the following lawful bases in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act):

• Consent: When you register an account, upload a resume, or submit a contact form, you provide explicit consent for us to process the data you share.
• Contractual necessity: Processing required to fulfil the services you have requested (job applications, account management).
• Legitimate interest: Platform security, error monitoring, and anonymised analytics.

We share your data only with the following trusted third-party services, strictly for operational purposes:

• Supabase (PostgreSQL): Secure database hosting for all platform data.
• Cloudinary: Secure storage for uploaded resume files.
• Resend: Transactional email delivery (verification, notifications).
• Cloudflare: CDN, DNS, and edge delivery for the platform.
• Sentry: Error monitoring (anonymised stack traces, no personal data).
• PostHog: Product analytics (anonymised usage data only).

Employers and agencies you interact with can view your profile and application data as part of the hiring process. You consent to this when you apply for a job or accept an agency invitation.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate dispute resolution purposes.

Application records are retained for 12 months after the hiring process concludes to allow employers and agencies to manage their pipeline.

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights:

• Right to access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your personal data.
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
• Right to grievance redressal: Lodge a complaint with us or with the Data Protection Board of India.
